
Contacter is a WordPress Plugin designed for voice feedback form for any websites. The plugin allows you to go beyond the usual text messages and contact forms and get closer to your users. The plugin adds a voice recording button to any convenient place on the site. This can be useful for reviews, order comments or any questions.
Go to Contacter>Settings in the WordPress Sidebar menu to open the plugin settings.

In the Contacter WordPress Plugin settings, there are several tabs responsible for various groups of plugin settings.
General Settings
The General tab contains basic settings for audio recordings, such as the duration and the ability to enable/disable speech recognition.
Max Duration
Set the maximum audio duration from 1 to 300 seconds. After the specified time, the recording will stop automatically.

Accent Color
Select wave and recording control panel color.



Show Download Link
The option allows you to enable the download record button before sending.
Speech Recognition

The option which uses the Cloud Speech-to-Text API Key File to enable speech recognition to convert it to text. As soon as you Enable Speech Recognition, you have to upload the key file to get the function works. Using the API is not completely free. According to Google’s rules, you have a certain quota per month for free using the Speech-to-Text. Exceeding this quota will require an additional fee. Check the prices.
Once the key file is uploaded, two additional fields will be available:
Language
Select the language of the audience who will visit your site. This parameter is important when generating transcription. The selected language must match the recording language. The list of supported languages here.
Punctuation
Enable the option to punctuates transcriptions (e.g., commas, question marks) with machine learning.
Floating Button settings
The Floating Button tab contains styles and display settings of the floating button for voice records. Select the position to display the button, set the colors, icon, animation, etc.
Show Floating Button
The toggle to enable/disable the floating button on all pages. When the option is enabled, the floating button is displayed on all pages automatically and all additional settings are available. To assign the button to specific pages, go to the Assignments settings tab. When switching the toggle to off, the voice recorder is hidden for all pages and you can add a voice feedback form using shortcodes.

All of the settings for this block listed below are available only if the “Show Floating Button” option is enabled.
Form to show
The field where you have to select a form for sending voice messages which will be displayed when clicking the record button. Create new forms via Contacter>Forms.
Position
The field to select one of 7 display positions on the page for the floating button. It can be Top Left, Top Right, Left Center, Right Center, Bottom Left, Bottom Right or Bottom Center positions.
Caption
Enter text for the button or leave blank to display only an icon.
Icon
Select the icon for the button using the icon library or upload your own icon in SVG format.
Icon Position
Select the icon position relative to the caption on the button. Pick “Hide” to remove the icon from the button.
Icon/Caption size
Specify the font size for the icon and button caption using a convenient slider. You can set the size from 10 to 100 pixels.
Margin
This option allows you to control the margin of the floating button. Here you can set the value from 0 to 100 pixels using the slider, where the value of “0” means that the button sticks to the site border.
Padding
This option allows you to control the padding of the floating button. Here you can set the value from 0 to 100 pixels using the slider, where the value of “0” means that the caption and icon stick to button borders.
Border Radius
The option allows you to adjust the border radius for the floating button.
Icon/Caption Color
Specify the font color and opacity for the text of the icon and button caption using the color picker.
Icon/Caption Hover Color
Specify the hover font color and opacity for the text of the icon and button caption using the color picker.
Background Color
Specify the background color and opacity for the floating button using the color picker.
Background Hover Color
Specify the background hover color and opacity for the floating button using the color picker.
Entrance Timeout
The setting determines the delay before the floating button appears on the page.
Entrance Animation
Select one of the available floating button animations for appearing on the page. The following types are available: Particles, Bounce, Fade, Flip-x, Flip-y, Scale, Wobble, Rotate. Pick “None” to disable the animation.
Hover Animation
Select one of the available animations for the floating button hover. The following types are available: Particles, Bounce, Fade, Flip-x, Flip-y, Scale, Wobble, Rotate. Pick “None” to disable the animation.
Modal Popup
The tab contains style settings of the modal popup window with a voice feedback form which is displayed when you press the voice recording button.
Pre-record Countdown
The option allows you to enable the countdown before recording starts. Specify the number of seconds to count down using the slider.
Overlay Color
Specify the background color and opacity for the modal overlay using the color picker.

Background Color
Specify the background color and opacity for the modal window using the color picker.
Border radius
The option allows you to adjust the border radius for the modal window using the slider.

Animation
Select one of the available appearance animations for the modal window. The following types are available: particles, rebound, attenuation, flip-x, flip-y, scaling, oscillation, rotation. Select No to disable the animation.
Default Messages
The tab contains the settings of the default messages for contact forms. They will be automatically applied when creating a new form. You can change the messages for a specific form by going to the Contacter>Forms and edit the existing one.
The available editable fields are listed below:
- Before Text – the text that that is displayed in the form before the “Record” button.
- After Text – the text that is displayed in the form after the “Record” button.
- Speak Now – the text that is displayed during recording after clicking the “Record” button
- Allow Access – the confirmation message text for your microphone access
- Access error – the error text that is displayed when the microphone is disabled
- Reset recording – the message text that appears when you click “Reset” button after recording is completed
- Send recording – the text that is displayed after recording
- Sending error – the text of the error that may occur during the recording or the form submission
- “Thank you” message – the text that is displayed after the form is submitted successfully
- Stop button text – enter the text for the Stop button if you want to replace the default one.
- Pause button text – enter the text for the Pause button if you want to replace the default one.
- Send button text – enter the text for the Send button if you want to replace the default one.
- Reset button text – enter the text for the Reset button if you want to replace the default one.
- Resume button text – enter the text for the Resume button if you want to replace the default one.
- Start a new Message button – enter the text for the Start a new Message button if you want to replace the default one.
To translate buttons through the .pot file, leave the default English names of the buttons Stop, Pause, Send, Reset, Resume, Start a New Message.
Save Changes
Do not forget to click Save Changes after changing plugin settings. After clicking this button, the settings will be saved and applied to all pages of the website.
